All About JT

TL;DR

Older than your average video game streamer. Married with children. Likes bourbon, fantasy, and escapism. Incredibly sarcastic and uses dry, deadpan comedy very often. Extremely opinionated, and always correct (ask my wife).

Bio

I often struggle with writing biographical information on myself. This is ironic, as I should be the undisputed expert in all things pertaining to me, but yet, I struggle! With that being said, allow me to try to introduce myself to you...

I go by the name 'JT' in nearly all of my online handles. Yes, these are the initials to my real name. Also, yes, if we become friends, I'll absolutely share my name if you desire.

I have been drawing breath for forty-four years. I would confidently say that I am older than most of the content creators out there, sharing their gifts with the world. Personally, I view this as a strength. I will not get into the why of this opinion yet; I plan to save that for a future blog post.

Throughout my years on this Earth, I have had the opportunity to live all over the United States: East Coast, the South, West Coast. I've lived in hot and dry areas, hot and wet areas, and traditional four-seasons areas. I currently call the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania home.

I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, and am currently raising my children here as well. My wife and I were blessed to be able to have the opportunity to move back to my childhood home in rural PA, where we actually purchased a home on the very street upon which I spent my childhood; our children's grandparents are our neighbors on the same block!

Content Creation History

Streaming is a hobby right up until the moment it's not.
JT

I have been creating live-streamed content since 2013. You probably have not heard of me, so, it is easy to infer that I am most definitely a small-sized creator! Since the beginning, I have gone through various branding cycles, even one phase where my branding was all about being just about as risque as possible without being banned on Twitch. I was a standard idiotic twenty-something!

Full-time streaming and content creation has never really been a goal of mine. The approach for me was more akin to a quote from yours truly, "Streaming is a hobby right up until the moment it's not!" It is truly my creed.

My approach to this is to meet as many fun people as possible. Find my people. Build myself up while also helping them do the same. Once the realization is made that content creation is not zero-sum; the success of a friend does not harm or help your personal success; that the best growth is organic and authentic, we begin to see exactly how I choose to conduct myself.

Just like in real life, offline, I want my friends to do well. I mean this. I truly hope I am afforded the opportunity to one day prove it.
